ABOUT ME

I was born in Istanbul in 1979. Since a young age i had an interest in music, and i started playing the guitar at the age of 12 when my uncle gifted my brother and me an acoustic guitar. At first, i was trying to make something out of my own experiments and a bit of what I learned from my brother. It was a trial and error process. Two years passed this way. Later on, I truly started practicing the guitar when i met a friend who was taking guitar lessons in our close circle. I never took regular lessons, but i diligently practiced what i learned from my friend and improved my guitar playing on my own by utilizing every available resource. Three years later, at the age of 17, i was giving guitar lessons to friends in the neighborhood, and by the time i turned 18, i was playing in local bands and bars. Jimi Hendrix, Alvin Lee, Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Richie Sambora, Marty Friedman, Yngwie J. Malmsteen are among the guitarists who have influenced me.

In 2002, i participated in the Berklee College of Music scholarship auditions. I received a scholarship, but due to personal reasons that developed later, i couldn't attend. In 2004, the recording of Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Far Beyond The Sun," which i played during the Berklee auditions, was included in a compilation album that featured guitarists from around the world, organized as part of the Yngwie J. Malmsteen Mega Fan Site's Stars Project.

In 2003, i started working as a sound technician at Öztop Music (Serdar Öztop) and recorded albums for artists like Erol Evgin, Bora Uslusoy, Taylan Ayık, and Sarp Maden. At the same time, i began teaching guitar at Jokerstore Music Academy and continued to do so for 8 years.

In 2004, i played with Deniz Arcak for a period and then joined the lineup of the heavy metal band Diken.

Between 2005 and 2007, within Evgin Music, i worked as a sound engineer, guitarist, and composer alongside Murat Evgin, contributing to TV series, film scores, and album recordings.

In 2007, i opened my own recording studio at Jokerstore and for 3 years, i recorded music for TV series and worked with artists like Abdullah Oğuz, Sarp Maden, and Cenk Eroğlu.

After completing my military service in 2011, i decided to focus more on my own compositions and started playing as a guitarist in Cenk Eroğlu's band.

In 2012, my own band opened for the Andy Timmons Band's concert in Istanbul.

In 2013, i met my current spouse, Kristal Sıla, who is a wonderful lyricist, composer, and vocalist. A year later, we formed our band called "Kristalin." Since then, as a result of our collaborations, we released our debut album "Dünyalar Benimmiş" and a lullaby album "Tatlı Hayat" in 2020.

Throughout all these years, i continued to give guitar lessons and work as a guitarist, arranger, and sound engineer on various projects.

Currently, i am in the process of recording my own album titled "Poet and Warrior"
